It is one of the oldest and busiest BMTC interchanges in the city, connecting routes from Majestic, KR Market, Cantonment, Frazer Town, Cox Town, Cooke Town, Ulsoor and the eastern suburbs. There is no metro station at Shivajinagar itself — the nearest operational station is MG Road on the Purple Line, about 1.5 km away.
